Yoga with Anne is infused with over two decades of wisdom and experience as a midwife and also as a Clarity Breathwork Practitioner, and years of continuing education in womanly arts, dance, personal growth, transformation, healing and living in joy that is our birthright. The yoga classes are rich, deep and unique.

Mindful Hatha Flow Yoga
Home Sweet Homebirth embraces mindfulness, authentic yoga, and meditation as skills for life, internal stress reduction, and well-being.
When practicing yoga, the focus is on your body's need for muscle stretching, toning, and movement, and the human need for serenity and joy, to help women throughout their lives.
I encourage you to practice yoga as a vehicle for inner strength, balance, and flexibility, as well as connection with yourself, the infinite magnificent spirit within and all around you.
As a holistic midwife and yoga teacher, I will be your very own personal yoga coach!
During your classes, which are 75 minutes each, the focus will be on guiding you through specific yoga postures, breathwork, meditative and visualization techniques. The atmosphere of your classes will help in self discovery and personal growth.
You can choose in-person private, small group or Skype sessions. You can even invite some friends over and split the cost of a small group yoga class! Or you can use Anne's studio in Nyack, NY for your class. These classes are ideal for those who can't get to or don't want to go to studio classes, but like the personal guidance, assistance, and more personal connection with a yoga teacher not available with online or DVD classes. I will travel up to 45 minutes from my studio in Nyack, NY.
The specific yogic modalities that are taught encompass Nosara Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar, Anusara and restorative yoga.

The prenatal yoga classes include mindful Hatha, Iyengar and Restorative practices. They are available on Skype, or in-person private or small group classes in your home or my cozy studio in Nyack, NY. They are ideal for mamas who don't want or can't get to a yoga studio class, and would love more individualized assistance, guidance, and an intimate connection with a teacher not available on DVD or online classes. It is like having your own personal midwife -yoga coach!

Postpartum Mommy and Me Yoga
Yoga post birth helps you to improve your physical and emotional health through this beautiful rite of passage that is motherhood. Being a new mom is a big life transition, which brings much joy but, can be challenging, and you deserve much loving support.
Postpartum yoga helps to restore abdominal muscle tone, perineal and vaginal muscles, and pelvic stability. Postpartum yoga helps to alleviate common upper back and neck strain often caused by slumped or misaligned postures from breastfeeding and carrying your baby.
Yoga postpartum helps you tap into your inner calm and equilibrium, bringing you emotional balance for some of the common stresses of new motherhood.
Yoga actually can recharge your batteries and give you energy, which helps with postpartum fatigue. It can also help you sleep better when you do have the opportunity.
Postpartum yoga can incorporate your baby or can be done while baby is at your side. It is a lovely way to connect and bond, as well as give you some techniques to calm and comfort your baby when upset or fussy.
Postpartum yoga classes are available on Skype, and in-person private or small group classes in your home or my homey baby-friendly studio in Nyack, NY. They are ideal for breastfeeding moms, new moms who want to practice yoga and bring their babies, and new moms who don't want or can't get to a yoga studio class, but would love more individualized assistance, guidance, and an intimate connection with a teacher not available on DVD or online classes. It is like having your own personal midwife - yoga coach!
*The best time to commence postpartum yoga classes is 3-4 weeks post vaginal birth, or if you have had a surgical birth, after clearance from your care provider. All yoga techniques are modified for postpartum to make your classes safe for you and your baby*
