These holistic childbirth education classes are for first-time expectant couples planning a natural childbirth or those who feel they want to do things differently in a subsequent pregnancy.

They can also benefit single moms with a support person and moms planning to have an epidural, as it is still necessary to prepare for early labor, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding.

Different than typical childbirth classes at hospitals, and other childbirth education approaches, these classes draw on Anne’s years of experience as a holistic midwife and yoga teacher. She teaches an eclectic combination of many modalities, based on what is most effective for a healthy pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period for the mind, body, heart, and spirit.

The course includes three two-hour sessions via Skype or at the in-home office, for you and your support person, to help prepare you for a healthy, empowered, deeply positive childbirth experience.

The classes include the following lessons, unique to your needs:

Preparing the mindset during pregnancy for childbirth.

Learning effective breath work, basic meditation, visualization, and mindfulness techniques to practice regularly, so you can more easily tap into them in labor and during any challenging situation during new motherhood.

Helping you create your own list of childbirth preferences, including the pros and cons of interventions at all stages of childbirth, and dealing with interventions as needed.

Learning effective coping techniques for all stages of childbirth.

Tips for how your partner can support you.

Supplies to have at the birth setting to help you on your journey.
